Topic 1Light – Introduction
Speed in vacuum ≈ 3 × 10⁸ m/s
  • 🔸 Light की Dual Nature होती है — Wave-like AND Particle-like दोनों characteristics
🔬
Topic 2Young's Double-Slit Experiment
यह experiment light की wave-like nature prove करता है।
🌊 Light खुद के साथ interfere करती है → bright और dark fringes का interference pattern बनता है → Proves light is a wave!
Topic 3Photoelectric Effect
  • 🔸 यह effect prove करता है कि light packets/quantum of energy (photons) से बनी है
🔄
Topic 4Reflection of Light

📏 Laws of Reflection (2 Laws)
1️⃣ Angle of Incidence (i) = Angle of Reflection (r) — Incident ray
2️⃣ Incident ray, reflected ray और normal — तीनों same plane में होती हैं।
🪞
Topic 5Spherical Mirrors
🪞 Plane Mirror
Flat mirror। Image = Virtual, Erect, Laterally Inverted
🔴 Concave Mirror
Reflecting surface curves inward। Image depends on object position।
🟢 Convex Mirror
Reflecting surface curves outward। Image = Always Virtual, Erect, Diminished।
🧍
Topic 6Image Formation in Plane Mirror
🪞 Plane Mirror की image — Virtual · Erect · Same Size · Lateral Inversion · Equal Distances
  • 🔸 Same Size — Image height = Object height
  • 🔸 Lateral Inversion — Left और Right interchange — Object: Left hand raised → Image: Right hand raised
  • 🔸 Equal Distances — Object distance from mirror = Image distance from mirror
👁️
Topic 7Real vs Virtual Image
📽️ Real Image
  • Light rays actually converge
👻 Virtual Image
  • Light rays diverge appear
  • हमेशा Upright (right side up) होती है
  • Convex mirror, concave lens, plane mirror
🔴
Topic 8Image Formation by Concave Mirror

Concave mirror both real

  • 🔸 C = Centre of Curvature  |  F = Focus  |  P = Pole

Topic 10Mirror Formula, Sign Convention & Uses
📐 Mirror Formula & Magnification
1/v + 1/u = 1/fMirror Formula
M = hᵢ/h₀ = −v/uMagnification
R = 2fRadius = 2 × Focal length
  • 🔸 M = +2 → Image size = 2× object, Virtual
  • 🔸 M = −2 → Image size = 2× object, Real & Inverted
  • 🔸 M = 0.2 → Image smaller than object
📏 Sign Convention in Spherical Mirrors
  • 🔸 सभी distances Pole of Mirror से measure होती हैं
  • 🔸 Pole के Right = Positive (+)
  • 🔸 Pole के Left = Negative (−)
  • 🔸 Principal axis के ऊपर = Positive (+)
  • 🔸 Principal axis के नीचे = Negative (−)
  • 🔸 Object distance (u) = हमेशा Negative
  • 🔸 Concave mirror: f = Negative  |  Convex mirror: f = Positive
🔧 Uses of Spherical Mirrors
🔴 Concave Mirror — Uses

Topic 11Refraction of Light
💨 Rarer Medium
  • Example: Air, Vacuum
🪨 Denser Medium
  • Example: Glass, Water
📐
Topic 12Laws of Refraction & Refractive Index
📏 Laws of Refraction (2 Laws)
1️⃣ Incident ray, refracted ray और normal — तीनों same plane में होती हैं।
2️⃣ Snell's Law: sin i / sin r = constant = μ — same medium pair और same wavelength के लिए।
sin i / sin r = μSnell's Law
μ = c/vAbsolute Refractive Index
μ₁₂ = v₂/v₁Relative Refractive Index
RI → μ = Speed of light in vacuum / Speed of light in medium

Topic 14Medium Cases & Refraction Through Glass Slab
🟰 Case A: Same Medium
Light same optical density
Example: Air to Air, Water to Water
⬇️ Case B: Rarer → Denser
i > r। Speed decreases।
Example: Air → Glass/Water
⬆️ Case C: Denser → Rarer
i < r। Speed increases।
Example: Glass → Air
🪟 Refraction Through Glass Slab

Topic 15Spherical Lenses
🔵 Convex Lens (Converging)
Centre bulged, ends narrow।
Convex Lens ≈ Concave Mirror जैसा behavior।
🟣 Concave Lens (Diverging)
Centre narrow, ends wider।
Concave Lens ≈ Convex Mirror जैसा behavior।

Topic 18Power of Lens & Diffraction
⚡ Power of Lens

Lens की light को converge/diverge करने की ability = Power।

P = 1/fPower = 1/Focal length
1 D = 1 m⁻¹Unit = Dioptre (D)
  • 🔸 Convex Lens (Converging)Positive Power (+)
  • 🔸 Concave Lens (Diverging)Negative Power (−)
M = v/uMagnification of Lens
1/v − 1/u = 1/fLens Formula
  • 🔸 M = 1 → Image size = Object size
  • 🔸 M > 1 → Image larger than object
  • 🔸 M < 1 → Image smaller than object
🌀 Diffraction (विवर्तन)

Light (या कोई भी wave) का obstacle के edges के around या small opening के through bend/spread होना = Diffraction।

🪟 Wide gap → Small diffraction effect  |  Narrow gap → Large diffraction effect
